"At MADCAP I really enjoyed learning about the organ and Celtic music. And, of course, the snacks. :) " MADCAP Chamber 2011
"1. Memorable and enjoyed: playing all together, with the sound of the other dulcimers, fiddles and banjos blending so well. Learning a mini-repertoire by the end of the week. History and stories and the obvious passion of the instructors for the music and the traditions. 2. No suggestions for improvements, except enjoy as much as you did this year and the students will too. " MADCAP Mountain Music 2011
"I really liked practicing our music with my group." MADCAP Chamber 2011
"I wanted to share some of the feedback I got from my son. Right now as I type he’s listening to Hava Nagila (again and again.) He’s also searched for copies of the music other kids performed. And he keeps listening to all of it. He did not talk a lot about playing with the other kids, except to say he understands much better the importance of counting. :) He said he was inspired by Rory Lipkis and thought seeing the organ was cool. (That led to lots of questions about the origin of the violin and other instruments.) He wasn’t too excited to dance. And wanted to learn more about Celtic music. Thank you for a fun and challenging camp. " Parent MADCAP Chamber 2011

"I really like coaching classes!! I feel like a better musician." MADCAP Chamber 2011
"Most memorable: The joy of playing together, and getting to play with such fine musicians. Most enjoyable: Listening to the 3 (or 4) of you play. And snacks! For next year: Maybe more singing? And maybe hearing more recorded vocals? Really there’s nothing I’d suggest changing. MADCAP Mountain Music 2011

| "I just wanted to thank you again for a tremendous experience. My daughter thoroughly enjoyed MADCAP Chamber. You and everyone who worked with the children this past week were terrific!
One notable comment my daughter made after the second day during the car ride back from the camp, was to express a great deal of enthusiasm for the Tchaikovsky piece her ensemble was playing. She had been practicing the second violin part for the past month but to hear it begin to fit in with the other parts of her quartet and to discover the beauty in the music was quite thrilling for me to witness. My daughter greatly enjoys playing the violin and as you know, it requires much dedication and commitment. Your camp allowed her to enjoy the rewards of her hard work by providing a fun and challenging social environment to experience a whole new dimension in music. She also enjoyed all the other fun educational activities you provided the children each day, especially the lesson on conducting! My daughter says she can’t wait to participate again next year.
